Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race date is Sunday, October 9, 2016. The Sponsor Expo, registration and other activities will be held at Baxter Arena, 67th & Center Streets. Both the 5K Run/Walk and the 1-Mile Walk will start at 9:00 a.m. in Aksarben Village and go through Elmwood Park.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Sponsor Expo, registration and other activities will be held inside the Baxter Arena located at 67th and Center Streets in Omaha, and the Run/Walk will start in front of Aksarben Cinema within Aksarben Village and go through Elmwood Park.
Q. Where do I park?
A. Over 7,000 free, public parking spots are available within one mile of Baxter Arena, located at 67th & Center Streets. Parking spots are available on a first-come; first-served basis.
Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. Entry fees are $30 for adults; $10 for survivors; $10 for kids 3 - 12. Kids under 3 are free, but need to register. Please note that this is a fundraising event and, as such, there are no registration refunds. We will gladly convert your registration fee to a donation supporting Susan G. Komen® Nebraska. A $5.00 timing chip may be added to any registration type.
Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race number, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, and a great feeling! Survivors will receive a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure t-shirt and a Survivor t-shirt. (No hats will be given this year)

If you requested to have your Race bib and t-shirt mailed to you, you must be registered by September 21, 2016.
Q. I ordered the VIP package when I registered. When and how will I receive my parking pass and ‘Hope’ hoodie?
A. You will need to pick up your hoodie during Packet Pick Up. VIP parking passes will also be available when picking up your Race packet at Packet Pick Up. Neither passes nor hoodies will be mailed.
Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K route which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk). You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Nebraska Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.
Q. Are pets and strollers allowed at the event?
A. Pets are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen Nebraska reserves the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.
Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just imagine the IMPACT. If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $1.1 million to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Up to 75 percent of the net proceeds from the Race stay right here in Nebraska to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports Komen’s national research and training grants program.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. Fundraising may be dropped off or mailed to Komen Nebraska, 8707 West Center Rd Suite 101, Omaha, NE 68124. They can be dropped off at Packet Pick Up or on Race Day at the Registration table. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check.
Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations on your behalf that are received by November 15, 2016 will be credited to your fundraising total and eligible for incentives.
Q. When will I receive my fundraising incentives?
A. Your fundraising incentives for level $500 will be picked up at Packet Pickup. Pink Honor Roll members raising over $1,000 will pick up their jackets at the affiliate office prior or after Race day.

Q. How do I form a team?
A. To be considered an official team, you will need 10 or more registered members by the morning of the Race. You can form a team or join a team online. For more information, contact us at (402) 502-2979 or email@example.com.
Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
A. Teams are not required to fundraise, but we strongly encourage fundraising. Fundraising as a team can be fun and any funds raised impact hundreds of Nebraskans each year.
Q. One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
A. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get this corrected.
Q. How will I receive my Race t-shirt and bib?
A. Please check with your team captain to verify he/she will pick up your Race t-shirt and bib.
Q. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
A. We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
